There is a kind of smiling and joyful laughter, for any thing I know, which may stand with sober gravity, and with the best man's piety, justly occasioned from the right apprehension of things; else had not Abraham fallen into it (Gen. 17.17), nor holy Job (Job. 29.24), nor the righteous in seeing (which is strange) matter of fear (Psa. 52.6)
